Alright, so there's new achievements for doing Horde on the Flashback maps, some peeps here still need the Guardian and KOTH achieves... I'll probably be sticking to this for the next week if anyone wants to join in.

Also, stogie, can I call in your pledge to help me beat the game on insane? We can bang it out pretty slowly for all I care (1 Act a night, over a couple weeks).

Yeah, we can do that. I think this will be the 5th time I've beaten the campaign. Let me know when. My brother and I want to start a co-op campaign on Call of Duty 5 soon.

Not a bad night for multiplayer. Up until those last 3 games, we had a nice winning streak going. Did you guys check out the voice message left by that one douche-bag? Hope you took the time to send him a nice reply like I did.

It's funny, I was telling my friend for all the competitiveness there is in Halo, I hadn't seen too many talkative assholes until I went to Gears. It's a douche bag magnet.

That probably says more about what type of person would suffer some of their gameplay aspects.

Last night I decided to throw my self into Wingman. A dicey proposition without a partner to be sure. It suffers from all the things that make Gears unbearable – only worse. My first game one guy was sawing a dude, so I went up to him and fired my shotgun point-blank into him 3 times. Nothing.

My best chance for winning seems to be getting a decent amount of drop-outs and being able to finish whoever's left.

Ok I plowed through this game in a couple of days (it is easy as hell) and I got to what I think might be the last boss and lost interest. Is the end the badguy that jumps from side to side in a large room with those barriers popping up and down?

You'd think so, but no. It should have been the ending of the game, but instead they give you an unsatisfying finish to the act and throw another one at you that leaves an even worse taste in your mouth.

Well stogie and I rocked out Act 2 last night, and so far I've been decently competent.

Much cooler, though, is we hit the ol' multiplayer for a few games, and kicked it off with a 3 game win streak (one a man down, a second with the other team quitting out after we won a round...).

I don't say this often, but I was practically living up to my rank last night. One oddly competent play I had was up against an opponent with a meat shield, I quickly took cover, threw a smoke 'nade, jumped up, and blew the guy to pieces once the body was knocked out of his hands.

I think stogie had a few moments last night too. How's the patched multi treating you stogie?

My highlight last night was when I received the "less history more mystery" achievement. It was at the end of a guardian match on Canals. One of our teammates downed the enemy's guardian but had to reload his weapon. I ended up stealing his kill. If that wasn't bad enough, the poor guy gets sawed from behind before he could finish reloading. I take the enemy out with my shotgun and see one of his buddies running up the stairs. Thanks to my shotgun, the guy disintegrates before he can finish his barrel roll towards me. The game ends with me getting 3 kills in less than 6 seconds.

That last game I was running an o-fer before we had that break-out Round 3. Too bad we were down a guy, we might have tied it up in R4.
(Stunningly, I think I ended up going positive by the end of the game)

(Speaking of Guardian, in my last 4 matches, I've been given Guardian status to start each one. EPIC has a sick sense of humor)

However, one of these days I really want to get some L4D achievements done. If nothing else, I want to get the pistol ach.

I'll be honest, I'm lukewarm on L4D until they open the other campaigns up. Blood Harvest blows.

By the way, just so nobody invites me and gets offended when I heartlessly ignore it: I don't have this game. Never got around to playing either of them. (The first one came out a long time before I bought my 360 and the second one I didn't play because I hadn't played the first one.)

The game has an invite all button that invites everyone on your friends list. I learned that the hard way the first time, and I drunkenly hit it by accident the second time.

Well, I just had a game so ridiculous I had to post.

Lobby starts 5 on 4, my advantage. Now I've learned a new trick: When starting a match (or round) fire your shotgun at the nearest wall to gauge your lag. I did so, and I swear it was close to half a second.

It's a game annex, we run most of the first round, but I can't do **** with the shotty. They give a scare near the end but we pull it off. Second round goes horribly, but I figure out that this where you should use the chainsaw as much as possible. We lose the round.

Final round is a blood bath. It's obvious that the guy on the other team is host, and most likely lagging us. We steal the round (mostly because it looks like everyone on my team caught on to what I was doing and started sawing the hell out of everyone.

Game ends, best guy on out team has 24 kills and roughly 6200 points, the host on their team has 64 kills, and almost 14000 points.

Yeah.

Well boys, enjoyable run last night while it lasted. I was going to give a certain someone here credit for showing up, but they just disappeared without a word, even here.

I forgot how time-consuming Annex is. Remind me to go back to Player's Choice if we do this again.

Also, Horde is going to be a bitch.

I think it's patently obvious that this game got released because they didn't want to miss their anniversary release date, nor the holiday season.

Things like grenade spawn on Hail pre-patch have no business making it to the final release, as there's no way testers didn't notice that.

sorry about that, turns out my roommate needed picked up from practice and i forgot to drive up there haha i left in a hurry, but it was quite a vanishing act (actually he called me in wave 7 but i just had to wait till we finished up the first 10)

Edit: BTW. I've been creeping myself up lately. I'm actually getting pretty good at this game. In games where I'm the highest ranked guy I'm finishing at the near the top like I should.

maybe... haha. It looks like i'll be two classes short of graduation this semester which means i'll probably be at PSU through the summer and will graduate in August, but i do have an interview in a few weeks in Charlotte, NC for after graduation
