I know that it's best to buy an external calibrator, but I don't need anything that good.
So I went to the Displays area of System Preferences, and hit the Calibrate button, which brings up the assistant. But for some reason, when I go through the steps, even in expert mode, the assistant still skips some of the steps listed on the left side of the window. In particular, I never get to adjust the gamma setting for individual colors like I could under OS 9.
I am using an iBook with an external monitor attached. The ColorSync utility only lists my LCD, so is it possible that this is why I don't get all of the calibration options?
