Right now it's running 9.2.2. I'm toying with the idea of putting 10.2.8 on it. I upgraded the hard drive to 60GB, and it has 256MB of ram in it.
I'm hearing great things about 10.3 in regards to speed boosts, even though it's a awhile off.
Anyone running 10.2 or even 10.3 on a rev A?
This machine is only used for web surfing, limewire, and minor WP stuff.

I'm running 10.2 on a 333Mhz iMac with 288MB RAM. It runs OK, nothing to rave about, but it's fine for web/email/wp etc. From what I hear 10.3 should be a bit better.

I'm running 10.2.8 on a Rev B. I use it for light web surfing and running a dictd server. For a while it was running a pennmush server, too. It's not blindingly fast, but it gets the job done.

The Achilles heel with first-gen iMacs and OS X is the video card, but for your purposes you should be OK.

I just put 10.2.8 on my Rev A w/288MB RAM on it... not as snappy as 9.1 but it's not bad. Original 4GB disk is definately the bottleneck.

It's only going to be an iTunes server/jukebox and do some D2OL crunching...but it's useable enough for a light-duty computer.

Looking forward to 10.3 to speed things up even more.
