Is Adobe Acrobat necessary? I have preview.app, are there any features or compatibility issues so that I must have acrobat as well?

I was cleaning out some old apps and I realized that I've never used it in the last 2 years.

If you never use it, go ahead and delete it. You can always download it again for free at adobe.com. There are some features, like their eBook services, that Preview can't do, but for most people Preview does the job well enough.

I've had some issues where Preview has messed up the printing of a PDF for whatever reason, but as mentioned, you can always download it again if you truly do need it.
