Does somebody know if it is possible to play Age of Empires II or III on a Mac against a PC user with the same version in a local network? We tried with AoE II The Conquerors, but we don't see each other. Any insight on this subject would be welcome.

i tried it with a friend AOE3 and i'm getting a CRC mismatch

Probably not. Since AoE is a windows port (a MS games divison windows port) I feel very confident saying it uses DirectX. Which means the networking was done using DirectPlay. Unless the company who did the port bothred to figure out how to do Mac <--> Win contectivity multiplayer is Mac <--> Mac only.
