There's no reason for them to do so - the web used to have a lot of those icons. IANAL, and especially not a UK Lawyer, but I seem to remember that you can use someone's brand for information purposes, as long as it is used whole (don't put another bite in the Apple, or change the color) and you don't pretend to be the owner of that brand. This last bit is why ads sometimes have text like "Apple™, iPod™ and the Apple logo are trademarks of Apple Inc." or something like that - to make it obvious that you are not representing them.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

Yes you can. Giving credit is legal, and most usually, appreciated. 'Made on a Mac' is a statement of fact, not an appropriation of a trademark. BTW, thanks for referencing our platform

I have seen it advertised as "Made with Mac".

It was for pasta with cheese sauce

If I'm not mistaken, back in the days of dot-Mac, the "Made on a Mac" icons were recommended or were included in Apple-created templates.

No one's going to stop you from doing that, greg, but do you really want your site to give off a mid-90s vibe? Maybe I'm picturing it wrong, but I envision the type of small "Made on a Mac" promotional icons that P references. If you're doing it in a classier way than that then please disregard.

Nobody has posted Apple's official page on the matter yet?

Shame on you all.

I wonder if Apple really has time to hunt down copyright infringement on small personal websites (what do people use these days now that Geocities is gone?). I remember using that badge years ago without a second thought to the legal repercussions. I wonder if that's a sign of me being reckless of the law and other people's property/I.P. or of the litigious atmosphere of the U.S. these days.

I don't think they would mind at all, since you're giving them free publicity and exposure! It would be dumb of them! Unless used for commercial puropose, there's generally no problem using their logo. Normally they have to actually pay to display their logo somewhere!

Its not that there is absolutely no problem using their logo. Apple is actually very restrictive about it. APRs for example are not allowed Apple logos over a certain size. They might not be allowed illuminated ones either, not sure about that.

AASPs, APRs, and anyone with an official Apple cert like an ACMT or ACSA are given access to certain logos which consist of an Apple logo and a title. They are allowed leeyway as far as the size goes, but they are not allowed to change the font, the text, the layout of the text etc etc. Apple are very fussy about their logo in many respects.

Mimiya is correct though, the 'Made on a Mac' was an option when building a .Mac website. I think you could just tick a box to get it. Its still present in iWeb too.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Such as iWeb is actually "still present" (which it's not—it's no longer available).

Try to buy it anywhere. It's not on new macs, and it's not in the App Store.

Does Apple still sell iLife 11 DVDs on their online store?

The link is on the bottom of the page. ($49.99)
iLife '11 - Apple Store (U.S.)
What's in the Box

DVD containing iPhoto '11, iMovie '11, GarageBand '11, iWeb (v3.0.2), iDVD (v7.1)
Electronic documentation
You can buy iMovie, iPhoto, and Garage Band individually through the app store, but not iDVD or iWeb. You have to order the DVD
