Hi guys and a happy new year to all..

Im after some advice on my backup strategy!

I have the following:-

MBP 200GB <45GB used>
500GB FW800 External <Contains my iTunes and Aperture Library ~115GB at present>
250GB USB2 External

Would it be best to use TM to back up onto the 500GB drive and then back the whole drive onto the 250GB.

or

Keep the 500GB just for iTunes and Aperture and just use TM to back up my laptop onto the 250GB

Hope that make sense!

Rich

This is what makes sense to me:
iTunes & Aperture library on 250GB drive.
Backup 250GB drive and MBP to 500GB drive.

No point trying to fit a bigger drive on a smaller one.

If you want the 250GB drive to have FW800 then just pick up a cheap enclosure.

Also.. moving to one of the technical areas.

Thanks for your input..

The reason why I need to keep iTunes and Aperture on the 500GB is that its a portable drive.. the USB drive is a desktop drive!

Get a bigger Desktop drive?

Yep.

Seagate Free Agent desktop drives are cheap enough, the 750GB seems to be better value than the 500GB right now http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-Free...1591600&sr=8-1
