(I am responding to this thread due to the urgency of the request, even though the thread should have been placed in Software.)
Switch to a different user (or make one and switch to it), then attempt to run the software. If it launches properly, then you know there is an issue with that particular account, possibly a preferences file or something similar. On the other hand, if it happens system wide, something is to blame at the OS level.

You're talking about MSN internet access, correct, dialup?

I've been on MSN for Mac since it was released in the summer of 2003, mainly because they give you webtv access for free. They recently told me that their Mac dial up service that uses MSN software is coming to an end on May 31. They're shutting the Mac dial up (don't know about broadband) down.

I can still access the net via MSN using Internet Connect, but not via the MSN software after May 31.

To be honest, I've been much happier since I've been going online via internet connect instead of MSN software.......... and I still get webtv for free.....

I can't help you directly with the problem with MSN Messenger, however, I would suggest using a program called AdiumX ( http://www.adiumx.com ). This program is far superior to MSM messenger, I advise you give it a try.

Try deleting any preference or 'plist' file that exists within any folder inside 'heruser/Library/Application Support'. Do a search for all things microsoft, msn etc to be sure. They might also put stuff in her documents folder.
