2005...i really dont know the difference and really dont care, i love this monitor and for $387 straight from dell, its a helluva price. my powerbook use to be loud while running it, but when i sent my pb for service for a bunk optical drive, they changed the fan and now its somewhat quieter, but still noticeable. i dont mind though...my music is always blaring while i illy it up .

The graphics card in the 12" is not good enough to work with the 2405 according to Dell's website.

balogna...i didnt know the 2405 is the 24" LCD from dell...but i do know my cousin has the 2405 and its driven quite fine by my powerbook (in clamshell mode). infact, the monitor is hooked up to his mini for most of the time, 32mb is fine to drive the lcd.

My birthday came and I got a iMac!!!!!!!! I took what I have earned so far and my parents payed the rest. It's the 17-inch iSight model. Its blazin' fast (especially compaired to my old1.42 GHz AMD Athlon XP) and I love Mac OS X. I think it will last me way into the Intel transition then I will buy (myself this time) an intel PowerBook rev B or C with a Blue-Ray Burner or something crazy. The iMac does alot more than I thought it would. It's great. I guess their right, Once you go Mac you don't go back. End of story.

Hiding all the wires does help the aesthetics of your set-up quite a bit. Great work!

I wish I could do the same thing, but with a glass-top desk, it makes it hard to hide almost anything.

Hiding wires like that is great for esthetics, but if you want to exchange or remove a cable every once in a while, it's a pain. I'm still looking for something to solve both issues. Up to now, the best I could find are velcro strips used as cable binders.

The EyeTV works out great, I live in a college house so all I have is my bedroom and it helps save space since I don't need to put a TV in my room. I have the eyeTV 200 and it basically lets me watch TV on my mac and use it as a DVR. I would really like to get the 500 model because it supports HD, which would be great on my ACD.

The software that came with it didn't work (crashed on launch), but I use it with SuperDuper! and it works like a charm. I partitioned it so I make a daily complete backup of my PB drive and then have have 172 gigs left for media storage. It nicely matches my computer, too.

Cool. I will have to check it out. I want so bad to be able to record my favorite shows on to my iMac. I have a Cox DVR, which is a pile of monkey crap, so I have to rely on Bittorrent downloads. Thanks!

Three pieces of standard galvanized pipe (about $60 including fittings, threaded and cut to size at Home Depot, two Ergotron LX arms ($160 each), PowerBook G4 Titanium 1GHz and a 20" 1600x1400 Samsung 204T (>$600 from CDW.com). The Ergotron LX arms just happen to fit the diameter of the pipe.

The desk surface, arms can all be adjusted to any height up to 60+ inches to work while standing. The goals for this desk construction were minimal size and total flexibility for positioning every part. The worksurface, PowerBook and 20" monitor can be moved easily to any height or placement/angle. All of this adjustability has helped reverse a minor bout of RSI damage (Repetitive Stress Injury). The red elbow rest attached to the front has helped immensely with RSI in the shoulder.

The desk, pipes, arms were assembled in one afternoon using a worksurface scavenged from another desk.

looks like you need an external sound card there bud. might i suggest the usb sonica theater for 5.1 systems from m-audio. i have it and it works great. even has a coax insert if your speakers have that option.
