Correction, two more episodes, and then a 2-hour finale:

Islanded in a Stream of Stars (1hr)
Daybreak, Part 1 (1hr)
Daybreak, Part 2 (2hrs)

I like to think of it as really just one more episode and then a 3 hour finale, but regardless, only 4 more hours of BSG left.

It's weird how Ellen was all like saint like when she talked to Cavil but as soon as she gets back to Galactica she's bitter, spiteful, and back to her old self.

I'm really glad there's only a few episodes left, to be honest even watching this one felt like as big of a chore as watching Heroes these days. It's like I care about the characters but the stories are just so bad.

Yeah... This episode should lead nicely into the next one, which is the first of two parts, the second part being the final episode.

No real new information revealed here though of amazing consequence.

My guess?

In comes the Trojan horse! Or at least a twist on it. Galactica will be led to Cavil with every explosive they can muster. That should be "quite a send off".

So where are these millions of skin jobs Ellen mentioned? What about the Cylon home world we were supposed to see in season 3? Is the entire Cylon race out in space chasing less than 50,000 people? Are the only rebel models the ones currently on the fleet baseship? What happened to the old-timey self-aware Centurions?

Anyway, I think Hera showed us the battle plan for the attack on Cavil with her toys. Send the old girl out in style indeed

I think that thing (the Cylon colony) Boomer took Hera to is the Cylon "home world".

Actually Galactica should be a in a pretty good position in a fight...

• If any of the final five are on board, especially Ellen, they're going to think twice about destroying the Galactica.
• All Galactica has to do to win is lob a few nukes at the outpost and destroy it..
• Caval is now mortal, so he'll do anything to avoid anything close to the above...

Yeah I think that hive Boomer took Hera to is the 'homeworld' and I think the millions of Cylons all killed eachother in the civil war. It wasn't just one or two baseships that cavil took out.... all the Cylon models voted together and they all started fighting at the same time.

I might have noticed the old school raiders if Time-Warner had bothered to inform me that they finally added SciFi to the HD lineup the other day. At least I'll be able to watch the finale in HD.

Lucky.... here in Canada we don't have it in HD at all, even though it's filmed here in HD. If not for the internets I'd think that BSG was filmed in blurryvision.

Adama and the paint scene were a bit over the top, but I enjoyed kara the pragmatic, sam the hybrid, and baltar the scientist. Quack scientist, but still.

I agree. Another nice cliffhanger episode. I figured they'd use Galactica for a diversion or something similar about half way through. Get the cylons busy shooting at Galactica while they steal back hera, then set off the mother of all nukes. Maybe load the thing with tillium and make big boom?

I could have used a little less random flashbacks and more anders muttering or hera planning or anything. Caprica helping Baltar's dad was slightly interesting, but the rest... it lacked context. Or something.

I think those will be tied in next week. I think the last three were written as part of the same story.

Also, what a weird choice to make that a naked singularity rather than a normal black hole. I wonder why they'd introduce such a concept.

I actually really loved this episode and all the flashbacks. It's just kind of sad how they're saying goodbye to all the characters.

Six putting Baltar's dad in a home was really interesting.

only in that it gives him a reason to trust her/be obligated toward her, that might make him less of an easily led doupe in letting caprica have the defense plans. They teased us that he was going to join the suicidal mission, but it seemed they either backed off that idea or are saving it for next week.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naked_singularity says "The theoretical existence of naked singularities is important because their existence would mean that it would be possible to observe the collapse of an object to infinite density." so obviously they must exist if they're on the internet and the reason that "they'd introduce such a concept" is because they are filming a TV show and you can see a battlestar or Cylon colony collapse on film if the singularity is naked. Plus it sounds sexier.

I didn't mean to suggest the concept is bogus. I just found it odd that they'd use a naked singularity when everybody knows what a black hole is. They even had to clarify that a naked singularity was "a black hole," despite the fact that it's not really true since a naked singularity by definition doesn't have an event horizon.

That's a good point, though, about the naked singularity offering a more interesting death scene.

Seriously, for the last three or four Fridays I've been out with friends. Usually I'll get home and around 11:30 I'll realize that there is new BSG waiting for me, and I'll run out to the living room to watch it.

(I get Sci Fi HD, so my BSG actually arrives at 7 PM.)

I'll be in Seattle on Friday, so likely I'll miss it again, and probably won't catch it until Monday. My parents have Sci Fi HD, but I'd rather watch it someplace without a peanut gallery.

They exploit a variant of an Einstein-Rosen Bridge, "FTL" is just catchy vernacular.

Yeah, it seems pretty obvious that BSG's jump technology doesn't actually involve any traveling. It's never like, "Oh, that trip will take 12 hours at Warp 7." They just jump and there they are. I actually like that. It's kind of a refreshing change.

So all these years have they been traveling and exploring all day and night and then making a jump each morning to a new space to look for more supplies and Earths etc. or do they jump many times a day or just once a week or month or what? If they are jumping all the time I can't imagine how Pegasus or the Cylons could have ever followed them but if they weren't I can't imagine why not. Seems like there's a limit as to how far they can jump but not really how long they have to wait between each one. (It sure is refreshing to not have the FTL fail every other episode like those dilithium crystal warp engines did though.)

Surely they didn't set up all of those loved ones on Caprica for nothing. Expect to see people reunited with them in some sort of spiritual metaphysical hooha. I also expect Baltar to make a selfless act and save all of humanity.

I think they are going to get sucked through the singularity, end up 4,000 years in the past, go to Kobol and become the Lords of Kobol- both humans and cylons. All this has happened before and will happen again.
