Lunatics is looking for a couple of testers running OS X on newer hardware to test some of the upcoming applications that are being worked on.

You must be comfortable with changing app_info's and able to run the benchmark suite.

For information and a possible account on Lunatics, contact Jason on the SETI forums.

He left me out with the "newer hardware" part. I've yet to make the Intel jump, since my existing computers work fine.

Do you have a description of the new project? I googled for a Lunatics distributed computing project, but didn't get a clear result.

Seti@Home optimized science apps and information

They are the people who ported Alex Khan's SETI apps to Windows and Linux.

We are just trying to get some other people who can help us test new builds of the apps before release.

I have a new 2011 27" iMac with an i5 at 2.7 GHZ. I would just have to see info on running the benchmarks to try that out.
