I have my icons in all of my folders arranged by [some method]. The problem is that all of the icons in each group do now show up. Only the ones on the extreme left show up, and there is an option to "show all." Is there a way to show all automatically?

Your question isn't clear. All your icons are arranged by name or size or type, right? What are these groups you're referring to? Are they folders or clusters of icons? The ones on the extreme left show up but is this the extreme elft of the screen or a window? There is no option to show all automatically. A screenshot would be very helpful.
