Use a voice sim on a data-only device?

I have t-mobile with four voice lines, the forth of which is not currently used. Does t-mobile have a problem with using voice line sim in a cellular iPad? I have read that other carriers only allow voice lines on phones. Obviously, I would only be using the data from the forth line.

I can't see why not. Give it a try.
