I have a current generation 2.2Ghz Macbook with 4GB OWC RAM. I've seen screen distortion accompanied by a loud, pulsating sound coming from the speakers. The whole system is locked up and only a hard restart fixes it. This has happened while playing the game Minions of Mirth and while using Photobooth. Is this a hardware or software issue? See image below:

You're not near any magnets/magnetic fields/microwaves are you? If not, I would say it sounds like a hardware issue. It will probably end up being a new logic board.

This issue has occurred in two completely different places..in my home office and where I work.. no stray magnetic fields or microwaves that I know of...my Mac Pro worked fine in my home office.. I'll probably give Apple a call on tuesday, this Macbook is only 2 months old... I even did a fresh install of Leopard, it didn't help at all.. very frustrating...

Anybody else have experience with this issue? Any tips for dealing with Apple?
