Tomorrow I'm looking to do up a video on the basics of OS X. I'm trying to aim it at new users of Mac OS X who have never used a Mac before or someone who has not used one for a number of years to perhaps someone that just wants a refresher. I have a list below of the Basics I will go over but wondering if there is anything else I should go over. I'm not going to go into mass detail such as a lot of setting changes or customizing. Trying to keep to the basics then expand to specific areas of OS X in other videos.
  • Dock
  • Finder
  • HD, Folders & Home Folder
  • System Preferences
  • Quick overview of basic apps
  • Dashboard ?

Perhaps I'm missing something that should be talked about or something in the list I should hold off on?

Tks,
Carter

Wow, that thread hurt my head. The user wants help yet can not explain what the hell he is doing clearly right from the start

That seems to hark back to the bad old days of MSDOS why would you want to run a bat file??
I have been using a Mac for 5 years and not felt the need yet.
You must be making a funny.

As for subject matter for the video - Just think back to what foxed you when you switched and make some videos on those things.

Good Luck
Are you using ScreenFlow to do the screen capture. It is what I use and recommend.

You should talk about how to install and uninstall software since that's a common newbie question.

Ya, ScreenFlow is what I use for creating videos on the Mac. Excellent application.
