So i'm at a loss...Do you think it could be the airport card itself or the antenna?

If I move the older white dual USB away from the router it just can't find the router, and when it's sitting right near the router it gets 1-2 bars.

Could this be a result of the antenna being dead? or the airport card? i've re-seated the card and the antenna few times and nothing ever happened.

Any ideas?

Antenna cable. Almost guaranteed. It goes WAY into the card, and it's sometimes hard to get it all the way in.

The antenna itself can't "die," but it can be broken. However, that would be pretty obvious since it's fairly well protected in its spot in the case. I think your cable isn't quite all the way in and that's what is killing your signal.

Try to switch channel on the router. Might be interference. Switching from 13 to 11 did wonders for me.
