I had my mini apart and when I put the case back on I broke off the little button that you hit to manually eject a cd if you need too. Will this screw up my mini? It seems to work fine so far but I did have my 1st kernal panic when the computer was idle after this happened but I have been on it for about an hour and everything is fine.

You might have broken something besides the button. Loss of the button shouldn't cause a kernel panic. Check and see if your RAM is properly seated. I can think of a couple of times when I've been working on my Power Mac and accidentally bumped the RAM so that it wasn't seated causing kernel panics.

you don't have to replace the RAM to bump it, touching it could knock it out of place...

Your kp might be a coincidence but kps are so rare with 10.4.x (don't even remember when I got my last one) that it might not be after all... When your friend adds (changes) ram, he must make sure they are well seated. As for that CD button, it's not a big thing. You can use the eject key on the keyboard instead.

How many kps did you get, say on a weekly basis ?
