Holy CGI, Batman! Trailer came out today, I think, and I have to say I'm not super impressed with what it shows.

I refuse to watch it because they didn't cast Nathan Fillion.

Didn't like it. Got a Fantastic Four mediocrity smell.

BTW, links for Unknown trailer don't work for me. ???

It's too early to judge the CGI; these are early in post-production. But Green Lantern seems like a version of Greatest American Hero that takes itself too seriously. (Yes, I know GL came first.) Gonna be hard to beat the camp factor on this one.

EDIT: is that that twit from Revenge of the Fallen? Are we gonna see him everywhere now too? Jeez...

Can't really tell much from the trailer. I'll probably
end up watching though because my friends are all
looking forward to this. I'll eventually have to bow down
to peer pressure.

Ryan Reynolds is Midas, the man with the golden touch. But this may not be comedic enough for him, we'll see.

Yeah. I had high hopes, especially with the rumors of Green Lantern 2 covering the Sinestro Corps wars and a third film covering Blackest Night. Oh well.

I'm a big Nathan Fillion fan, but I can't see him as Hal Jordan.

I can't see Fillon as any kind of "physical" hero. Bruce Banner type, maybe. His voice was good as Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman animated.

I'm still on the fence about the movie...I like the casting to be honest but the CGI is kinda killing it for me...But I will still be going to the midnight showing with my fellow DC fans!

Ya, I saw that video. It's what made me realize that I couldn't see him as Hal Jordan.

BTW, anyone ever read Marvel's StarBrand? Because I read StarBrand long before I learned about how Hal Jordan gained his powers, this movie trailer feels like a bizarre ripoff of a different story to me - despite knowing that GL came long before Starbrand.

Well said. This will be a throw-away treatment of an otherwise rich storyline. I hate to see great characters portrayed so 'two-dimesionally' (pun intended).
