Did anyone catch the pilot? It had some humor in it and the effects look decent. Having Kevin Smith behind it gives it points, IMO.

Recorded it. Haven't watched it yet though. Am looking forward to it, based on what I've read.

Looks like the chick is Candice from Heroes. Sooo hot. She needs to ditch the work apron though and get back into her plaid skirt (which I couldn't find a good pic of).

It was pretty good, but I think Pushing Daisies is funnier and far more clever than Reaper. I do like the guy that plays Satan in Reaper. He's perfect for the part.

That's right, he did didn't he? I knew that guy looked familiar!

It was a lot better than I was expecting. I'll be keeping an eye on it.
Does anyone know if Kevin Smith will be directing any more episodes, or if he was only doing the pilot?

I read that he was only directing the pilot, but I can't remember where or if it was even a reliable source, so don't take that as gospel.

I loved Dead Like Me. I found it on DVD really cheap at Best Buy and bought the seasons in hopes that DVD sales would bring it back, like it did for Family Guy.

Another fan of Dead Like Me. Reaper seems decent after the first two episodes.

I'll rate Reaper a solid meh. Not terrible, but nothing to wet your pants over either.
My objections are:
1. The devil spends an awful lot of time and energy on these little job assignments. Can't he just catch the guys himself?
2. The buddy character's going to need a little fleshing out for me to care about him.
3. Very episodic at the moment -- one soul to catch, one episode. I guess I'm hoping for a little more serial drama.

I'm actually getting tired of serial drama. I want to be able to watch a show without having to watch 10 of them to find out what happens. Sometimes it's good just to be able to watch a show once in a while without having to see all of them.

This is why serial drama is best on DVD. So you can choose if you want to watch the next episode straight away instead of having to wait in suspense for (and possibly miss) the next one.
