Doesn't seem greatly different to last version, so as long as its as stable i'll be happy.

You make a custom style sheet that turns off underlines for links, then you select it in the advanced Safari preferences.
Fore example save the following as "custom.css" and then select it in the advanced preferences will remove underlines in links:

a { text-decoration: none }

Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

I just downloaded safari 1.0, but it just keeps unexpectedly quitting. I thought it may be PithHelmet, which I deleted from Application Support in Library, but didn't seem to help.

Anyone else having a problem? I'm using IE to browse at the moment. Very yuck. I havn't used IE at all for about 4 months.

Well it seems to have fixed my #1 gripe -- earlier Japanese characters would often get changed to ?????? when doing searches or online shopping or whatever, but after a quick test it seems to be fixed.

A few questions before I upgrade:

1) Does it render the Porsche website properly yet?

http://www2.uk.porsche.com/english/gbr/911/default.htm

2) Does it actually stop pop-ups properly, or am I going to have to wait until PithHelmet is updated?

3) When clicking on a pop-up Window (such as guitar specs at http://www.fender.com), current beta I'm using remembers the size of the pop-up window and presents all future windows that size (even on Safari restart). Has it sorted this problem out yet?

Thanks guys.

Deleting the SIMBL folder in ~/Library/InputManagers fixes the crash on startup issue with Safari and PithHelmet by disableing PithHelmet.

Safari 1.0 installed a Safari folder, next to the application, with Contents/Framework...etc. in it. Does it sound right? I don't think this folder should be there...

One nice new feature in tabs -- when a page won't load but you're not on it, old safari would jump to that tab and give you the error message. Now, a little warning icon shows up on the tab -- when you click the tab, then you get the error message.

Do you guys have that Safari folder in the Apps folder? (see my previous post) I'm kind of curious...

since my second upgrade to safari, every time I start up i get two dialogues saying "there was a problem saving bookmarks. I just upgraded to 1.0 hoping the problem would go away, but it didn't. Any suggestions on what to try? Where can I find the bookmarks file for Safari?

sounds like you still have your older version on your mac...find it, delete it (maybe find the new one first, try opening that...)

Wow. Safari seems faster. Or is it just me imagining it? After all I had a restart after the security update. Great first impression. It hardly knocks on my cpu resources.

Sniffer gone old-school sig
