Is it WWDC? Harry Potter? Midsummers? Another Iranian revolution? Your crazy cousin's wedding? What is it?

The next big thing?

Payday on Friday.
Then WWDC (it's big-ish, but I'm not going to be in the market for a G5 (unless it blows everything else away (it probably won't, but...))) I'm looking forward to the Panther preview though.
Then, erm. July 4. It's my mother's and sister's birthday! Screw American Independence Day

WWDC is pretty big. That's next.

After that: me and a bunch of friends rented a cabin perched atop a mountain in the Ouachitas (in Southeast Oklahoma). Gonna go to Broken Bow Lake and swim and hike. Oh yeah, BBQ too!! Can't wait!

Oh, and I'll be getting a 30G iPod soon too, so I guess that's a big thing other than work.

Cool, that's the first time I've ever seen Bath mentioned on MacNN... or the internet really! I live about 10 miles away, near Shepton Mallet. What are you up to on this world tour??

The Great American family vacation starts monday. We pack three kids in the car, and drive 4 hours to the coast, where we're renting a little cabin on the beach for 4 days. My 4-year-old is beside himself already.

I'm going to have an anyurism, though, wondering what happened at WWDC...

Next big thing? Plague.
We did the plague thing last month up here. Wasn't nearly as good as the trailers had suggested. Hopefully West Nile will make a bigger splash with the plague-going public. Oh, and look for locusts to arrive soon to a decimated corn field near you.

War, pestilence and disease aside, my recent 'big' things were my 38th birthday, as well as my daughter's 30th (month). Her recent potty training success is similarly classified as a 'big' thing in our house. Upcoming events that meet post title criteria are my wife's new job (she's been at home since Sara was born) and our three-week vacation in Newfoundland come late August. Gotta love the homecoming.

Max, hang tight. My commute sucks also, but was made more liveable with the installation of some nice new stereo equipment and an ongoing refinement to my 'just chill' attitude.

And max, cheer up. The rain can't last forever. The sun'll come out tomorrow. Bet your bottom dollar.

...andf NOW I got some stupid ass song from that blank eyed shiney chrome domed friggin' musical from HELL in my head... GAAAAH!

Friggin' commute. Our illustrious Gov wants to make the trip to the Cape easier on the touristas by building some overpass and killing off the rotary. Fine. WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF US WHO KEEP THIS STATE RUNNING?!?!? Fer CRYING OUT LOUD! It took me 2 hours to get home last night and there was NO reason for it! I left at 4! It was just... volume. WHen was the last time you were on 128 South at 4PM, Mr. Governor? Pike at 4:30 on a friday? Hm?
Wanna DO something? Fix the issues of the folks that LIVE here instead of making vacationing life easier for the New Friggin Yorkers who are HELL bent on turning the Cape into Manhattan anyway!

Ooooo. My mood dropped yesterday at 3:30 and I am WORKING to bring it up.

One thing about the NYCers and NJers on the Cape that makes me VERY happy...
I used to talk to folks about letting their kids wander the dunes (those $500 fine signs are apparently in Latin or Greek or Aramaic or something). No more. I spied something WONDERFUL up there on my walk up the beach last weekend. Poison Ivy. LOTS of poison ivy. More than I had EVER seen. Miles of it. ALL over the dunes. Bright green and shiney leaves of three. Hidden in the dune grass. It was on the bay side. It was on the CCNS side. It was on all sides of the walkways. It was on the Lower Cape. It was on the Upper. It. Was. EVERYWHERE. I rejoice. I dance. Natural justice.
Next Big thing: stock in Calamine.

I'm going to pull your head off because I don't like your head.

We're not due to hardscape the Cape fully until 2006 -- what you're seeing right now are just probes.

Hold on...

When I look more closely at the schedule, I see someplace named "Leicester" is next. Funny name, that. "Leicester?" Really?

We'll have to rename that quick. I see "Yorkville 2" is proposed, but I think the Lower Lower Lower East Side might work.

Wherever you are, place-formerly-known-as-Leicester, get ready for an influx of funny trees, manhole covers made in India, Duane Reades and a whole lot of "French" cleaners.

luckily, no. A neighbor warned me. Then I went looking. Seems to be hiding in the perimeters, as well as in a rocky pile. Said neighbor will remove it for a price. Thinking on it. Or just going to get some roundup. I cut some using long clippers and gloves and stuffed into plastic bags, but that got me paranoid for a week, with washing everything and doublechecking...

Next big thing is getting paid for the various website work I've been doing the past few weeks.

And an update to a software program that some of you may be using/playing if you frequent golf clubs in the Austria area. Not sure if it'll go through or not, but hopfully it will.
