Hi,

does anyone has problems burning DVDs with Toast 6.0 on dual G5 2Ghz Rev. B?
I use TDK DVD 4x speed, which worked 100% with my PB Titanium Superdrive, but on my G5 I always get a verification error from toast :-(

Burning speed was of course 4x, even if the Superdrive should be able to burn 8x...

Meanwhile I tested burning with 8x DVD-Rs (TDK) with Toast and Apples Disc Utility, and both failed on verifying! This is strange, anyone out there having the same trouble?

Possible a DVD-brand Problem?

Disappointed...

I had problems using TDK DVD-Rs with my external LaCie drive. It has the Pioneer drive that some of the PowerMacs have as well. I switched to Maxtor DVD-Rs and have not had any problems so far.

I have had problems with Memorex and generic brands on my G5 Dual 2.0 rev. b. The errors are with both Toast and Disk Utility.

I dunno if this would be related, but on my Rev 2 dual 1.8 that I recently purchased, I installed 6.0 and tried to burn only getting errors. I had found the 6.05 (currently up to 6.07 on the toast site) and installed it. Now it works like a charm... check your versions.. perhaps you may need the update?

Just a thought.

I agree that the update will probably solve it...
if it doesn't, try other DVD brands

(and what about updating the burners' firmware?)
