Anybody got it to work in 10.1.2 ? The only driver I find is the one for the HP1200, would that one work with the HP 1000 ($250). The problem is that I would like to buy the 1000, as it is sufficient for my home use, but if the only working drivers around work with the HP1200 ($399), I would have to go with the more expensive one.
Any info highly appreciated.

The HP LaserJet 1000 is a Windows-only printer. You need the LaserJet 1200 which is for any platform, including MacOS 9 and X. It is more expensive but it's a better quality printer.
If you're looking for a cheaper printer, check out the Samsung ML-1250. The quality is lower than the HP's but it is cheaper and there is an OS X driver. You could also check out the Brother 1450. It doesn't have the best design (it has a lint catcher in the back :-) but the print quality is decent. HP is still the best quality though.
