Just collected my MacBook Air (MBA) this morning. It is really super slim and light. I love it!

Below are some pics of how the MBA compares with my 13" MacBook and 15" PowerBook:

MBA vs 13" MacBook (middle) and 15" PowerBook (bottom)

i accidentally pulled on the usb lock mechanism they have at the apple store and the alarm went off...which resulted in the following:

"ALL I WANTED TO SEE IS HOW IT LOOKED WITH THE LATCH CLOSED I SWEAR!!!!"

and then an apple employee trying to get the damn alarm to shut off.
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)

All I had heard about the MBA was the lack of standard locking port.
Does "the usb lock mechanism" require some special USB hardware/software?
Is it a practical substitute for a cable/lock(physical) combo?
Cost?

the usb lock at the apple store has a thru port; you can plug a usb device into it.
not sure what it was, but worth investigating (if you're interested in the mb air, and want security)...
