OS X 10.1.5. Is there a setting to have Apple's Mail removed downloaded email from the server as there is in Eudora? I have looked and can find none.Email piles up until I get on by way of the web and delete it.

you can delete and compact your mail folders just like you would with any other IMAP based email system, and you can also probably setup a mail rule to transfer all incoming messages to a folder. I wouldn't advise the latter though, it's best to work with the strengths of IMAP rather than trying to mimic POP behavior in my opinion...

I think he is just talking about standard POP. You can turn on "remove from server" by looking under Preferences -> Accounts -> "Your Account Name" -> Advanced -> Remove messages from server.
