So I have an external hard drive for my music and other stuff. I went to iTunes preferences and pointed iTunes to the music folder location so that everytime I disconnect & reconnect that hard drive I don't have all the Exclamation points and have to redo the library.

My question is, iTunes used to automatically add files to the library when I dropped them into the music folder before I set it up with my external hard drive. Is there a way to get this back. It's just a bit of a pain to manually add every song. I forget sometimes.

I never had iTunes automatically add when things were put in the music folder. I use an External HD, and when I add songs I just make a new folder, put the songs in there, and then import the folder rather than each song individually.

Hmm Thanks. I know it was doing this, and I assumed it was a feature of the mac, because it didn't happen on windows.

Anyone else have any ideas, or know what I'm talking about?
