Hi there,
My 9 mth old MBP recently had to go in for repair (power port). Since it came back, the battery only charges to 96%!
Is there anyway to check ‘my’ current battery is the original one?
Cheers, posthumanus.

The "percent charged" value is an estimate based on a number of values reported by the battery. It is not expected to be particularly precise, since room temperature, recent usage and other factors can change those values moment-by-moment.
If you have not yet done so, follow Apple's instructions for calibrating the battery. This will get you the most accurate estimate of the battery's actualy charge level, life expectancy, etc.
