I'm trying to get my Canon iP5000 photo printer to work with my powerbook. I install the drivers and it tells me to go to the contro lpanel to align the print heads. WHERE THE HELL ARE THESE CONTROL PANELS?asdfiojasdopifjaosdiuf

This works for my friend's Canon. Don't know the model.

In Applications>Utilities, open the Printer Utility. In Tiger it's called the Printer Setup Utility, but I vaguely remember it's called something else in Panther.

Select the printer, the "Utility" icon in the Printer Utility's toolbar becomes selectable, and have at it.

Yeah, well, I can get to that, but I can't do naything. There are no controls for me to change at all, just model name etc. All of the images I print are extremely yellow.

iP5000 is a decent printer. You gotta calibrate it though like most printers. let us know what's up.

What must I do to calibrate it? Please tell me theres a button somewhere in the control panel that does this.

Have you read the manual on the software CD ? Also, OS X doesn't have 'control panels.' You need to use the printer's utility from the print center application to align the print heads, etc.

Perhaps Canon means the physical control panel on the printer?

I only have the option in the OS to manually align the print heads, which I don't know how to do. The printer has 3 buttons total on it, including power, paper feed selection, and cancel/resume job.

Yep, it's a pretty simple printer for the consumer market.
Make sure the ink cartridges are installed properly.
