I know that the software base station can be configured in 10.0.4 with a little work, but what I'd really like to know is whether 10.1 will bring software base station configuration to the Airport Utility.

I have searched the boards, but didn't find anything other than the instructions for doing it using the terminal.

Thanks,

I'm running 5F24, and the Base Station utility that comes with it runs flawlessly. I imagine 10.1 will come with the same one in 5F24 or an even newer one.

Just to clarify, this is a software base station that you're able to set up, as vs. an actual base station unit?

Thanks,
Sinemac

No, no software base station. Of course you can still set it up per the instructions floating around.

By the way, how can you have 1.1GB of RAM?

That's not what I was hoping to hear.

Well, technically, it's 1.152GB (512+512+128).

Sorry, my bad, I was talking about a hardware base station. Sorry to get your hopes up. I don't think 10.1 will have the software capability built in. You can easily do it with the firewall stuff packaged with Darwin.

Sorry, SW ABS was something i was hoping would make it looks like 10.1 final does not have this functionality accessible via a pre-installed software package (this is not to prevent a 3rd party app from accomplishing the same thing) Other than this though Airport integration is very slick.
