Definitely a nice and forward looking theme. I wouldn't be surprised (any devs out there can correct me on this) if some of the changes and enhancements to Core Graphics in Tiger make something like the transparent window in the first mockup much more feasible; of course, that would also mean an update to Shapeshifter for Tiger, the point is the same.

I'm in the same boat as you and don't know enough TP to be of any substantative help, but I will join the cheer squad in this thread and do what I can to encourage you on in this endeavor!

I'm having a very strange problem. When I used the theme preview the menu caps looked fine, but when I exported as a .guiKit, the caps disappeared and there was the default panther apple only in that spot.

I can solve that problem you are having with the tiger caps disappearing i learned how to fix this problem when i did royale theme. It requires xtools. Opening the tpark in property editor and adding the layo manually.

I do not suggest trying this yourself as it is not at all an easy task if not knowing what exactly it is you are doing.

Let me know if you would like me to fix this tpark file just pm me.

Make sure there is enough blur or general backside distortion on the transparent parts. Otherwise it would get confusing I think. Not saying change everything but just maybe take it into consideration. Themes need to be pretty AND functional. If not both, they go on that back shelf that you show you friends but then you switch back to Brushed when it comes time to actually use the computer,

So long,
Larg0

ps. In case it's not apparent, I think your theme mockup looks beautiful.

siMac,

have you checked out the app VirtuFrame? the prefs window is transparent. not sure if this is helpful, but probably worth a look. this was the first app i have used with transparency across the entire active window. i'm not a themer but thought i would mention this...

peace.

@Makki: Please can you help me . AIM: patr1ckXD; MSN: [email protected].

I've got the finder buttons and metal windows/buttons done.

P.S.: There is a browser (alpha) called Aero Browser that has transparency throughout also, but freezes whenever there are two windows open and only has back and forward capabilities (no bookmarks); however the widgets are on the right and it looks promising.

looking realy great two quick points i noticed from the latest shot, the sweeping curve from black to clear is a little to close to safari and not close enough to the apple icons and secondly the safari bookmarks bar needs a colour so that u can read it better, grey probably. This is looking realy nice, keep it up

Aww, you went and ruined it!

The original previews didn't take into account the ugly, ugly (IMHO) back/forward etc buttons from Aero.

[shudders]

This is my opinion of the M$ interface, not my opinion of your work. You do seem to be staying true to your original, if questionable, inspiration and doing a good job of recreating it on the Mac.

I agree.... once it gets to MS buttons the them starts to come apart. A beautiful blend of Aero and In Motion is the ticket for me.

Just to tell you; the artifact problem with menubars that use transparency, that you mentioned, is fixed in ShapeShifter 2.0.1 and ThemePark 2.0.1 (which we're allowed to discuss openly).

Does 2.0.1 fix the issue of ShapeShifter resetting all my theme settings whenever I install a new piece of software? This is by far the most annoying bug affecting my system right now... every new build of Adium I download requires a trip to the ShapeShifter prefpane. Ugh.

Yup.

And pyn; you said earlier when you export to guiKit you get the default Aqua caps and such (I got this problem with Label'O's in fact); it's to do with you using transparency in the menubar.

Yes it will include an Adium contact list theme and style. I have design ideas in my head of a message style, but that would be finished after most of the Aeroesque theme has been completed. I have started to do scrollbars and some text colors. After I complete the next major element I'll post a little preview

Wow, this is shaping up to be an amazing theme. This might actually get me to switch from NEOS which I've been using since it was first released. Keep up the excellent work.

My only concern about the theme is that the menubar may not be readable with a dark or black desktop.

Using ThemePark is just way to stressful for me so I am releasing it open-sourced. Anyone can do w/e they want with it and release it as long as original theme design/idea is credited to me.

You can download it with 4 PSD mockups here.

If you need some more elements feel free to IM or e-mail me to request 'em.

I must say I'm kinda disapointed about this, the theme looked great and you have released this just when I don't have enough time to do anything with it, the actual themepark files you created would be fantastic chrismtas gift though

EDIT: sorry just downloaded it and found the tpark file
