Episode 6 for season 7 has been leaked. I couldn't resist and now I have to wait 10 days for a new episode.

Yeah, I saw it too. (My network guy showed up with a really nice 1080p grab.)

No spoilers here, but... whoa. The problem is, we're having another GoT dinner party (we have those on the 1st, next-to-last, and last episodes of a season) and I already know what's gonna happen. Which sucks.

In her mind, how can she trust someone who would sell out their own family?

Ayra is a youngish girl who has been trained as an assassin and killed a bunch of folk. I think it's a bit much to expect all her interactions to be normal and rational.

Of course maybe Arya knows exactly what Littlefinger is up to and its all a show for his benefit? You'd think Bran might warn the pair of them...

There is also the case that knowing the sacrifice would be for nothing, it would be better to live to fight another day. To wait and learn. I don't find fault with that approach. Nobly casting herself to the lions would have gotten Sansa and her family no where.

BTW, if you want a great exposé on each episode, I strongly recommend this YT channel. He does a complete breakdown of every episode, start to finish, including a lot of "Easter eggs" that you may miss, as well as some excellent commentary and comparisons with the books.

There's no indication they would have done anything to her, she was still far more valuable to them alive rather than dead. Also, you're looking at this through your own eyes and not placing yourself in the shoes of someone from The North. What she did was horribly treacherous, one of the worst betrayals possible, and that's why she's presently freaking out. She knows that Lyanna Mormont and company will tear her apart, figuratively if perhaps not literally, if they find out, and with very good reason (from their perspective).

Does anyone get why they chose to re-surrect Uncle Benjen for just one more scene instead of letting John escape with the others? That was a weird detour, and they could have used that time for other things.

I heard someone referring to him by a different name. Cold hands or something like that. I feel like there is something special or different about him. Perhaps that becomes relevant later?

Benjen did have a relation with the Children of the Forest, they seemingly rescued him and gave him his new weapon (that sets white walkers on fire). I found it weird that he injected into the story as a deus ex machina and then to just seemingly kill him off. Perhaps there is an ulterior motive, but if it made at least this bit stand out as being superfluous.

All the Benjen appearances, draw your own conclusions.

It was in the latest "Inside the Episode" and it was Weiss/Benioff calling him Cold Hands. Apparently he was already half dead or something.

Can a mod put "spoilers" in the title? There's too much clicking going on in this thread.

I added to title, but I think it's nice to still use tags for the current season.

Speaking of, rereading the thread, sudden realizations...

Ghost ran off to join Nymeria's pack (at least on the show) and be the co-lead, that's my theory. Jon still "feels" him out in the wild, though, so he just lets him run free.

Nah, it's just Jon and Dany on the show, now, for the living, I'm sure the Night King will ride Viserion, which is kind of fitting, given his namesake was a cold, heartless prick.

Are we going to see any real action tomorrow? Typically GoT blows its load for the season in the penultimate episode and we had the glorious episode 4 this year as well so we already got a double portion in a way. From the promo I'm thinking they will take their time setting things up on knife edges ready to knock people over and cut them to ribbons throughout season 8.

Spent a lazy Saturday getting caught up, so...

* Things are moving fast now, but they're clearly off the script, because it is getting stupider in spots. I agree about the "last second saves" in particular, and a lot of people are acting stupid.
* Forget about armor for the dragons, how about armor for Daenerys?
* I called it about what Sam would find in Oldtown, and then they missed the importance of it.
* The scenes with Sansa and Arya are slightly...off. I know the actresses are friends and have barely been in the same scene before, so maybe it is hard to act against your friend? Or maybe they're playing Littlefinger for a fool.
* Jon has been close to Drogon but for some reason never to any of the others. Are they not curious of him? Seems clear to me that they're delaying him riding Rhaegon for as long as possible.

I'm thinking Dragonglass arrowheads and spearsheads, Valyrian steel and lots and lots and lots of wildfire. D&J can drop wildfire grenades from dragonback, should be fairly effective if they can hit white walkers since each walker dropped takes down a raft of zombies.

That mega-crossbow is called a scorpion, which they actually mention in passing. It was a weapon from the Greeks, which the Romans used extensively.

My g/f and I agree this season is more or less pure fanfiction. Still very entertaining, but I'm glad they're close to wrapping the series up.
