Anyone using Temperature Monitor for their iBooks, if so what is your normal temperature? Mines run avgs between 94 to 100 degrees.

Ya I have the same problem with a 900 iBook 12" app won't find usable sensor.

Is there on that will work with it? or does anyone know of a firmwear hack to enable the sensor that I believe is disabled?

I think the sensor doesn't exist on the iBook G3 models. IIRC, they are only on the G4 models, as in some of the Titanium Powerbooks and now, the iBook G4.
Not too sure about the Alu Powerbooks though.

I have it running on my G4 Ibook-avg running temp with light work varies from 105-115 F, low fan comes on at 147 F, hair dryer fan mode kicks in at 155 F.

is the fan very noisy?
I assume that in the "hair dryer" mode the fan must be very noisy.
what about the normal fan mode?
does the fan generally comes in each time you use the ibook, after some period of time?
questions by possible ibook g4 owner

The fan almost never comes on, and the only time I have ever heard the "hairdryer" was while doing a hardware test that tested the fans. The only times that the fan seems to come on is when I do something stupid like being in bed and having the blankets wrap around the iBook too, thus restricting airflow. Other than that it is silent. Hardly hear the HDD either.

I saw two shooting stars last night,
I wished on them, but they were only satilites,
its wrong to wish on space hardware,
I wish, I wish, I wish you'd care.

here is another good temperature program Thermo graph X

Edit: you should really check this out. On my G4 ibook it shows 4 temp sensors and it says it will work on G3 ibooks

Same here, only time I've heard the fan was when I was doing the hardware test and the "hair dryer" fan came on during the logic board test.

So from what I see here, is that that normal operating temp is from the 95F to about 115F.
