I just spotted this module on Crucial:

* Part Number: CT25664AC667
* Module Size: 2GB
* Package: 200-pin SODIMM
* Feature: DDR2 PC2-5300
* Configuration: 256Meg x 64
* DIMM Type: UNBUFFERED
* Error Checking: NON-ECC
* Speed: DDR2-667
* Voltage: 1.8V
* Memory Timings: CL=5
* Specs: DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 256Meg x 64

US $1499.99

Intel says 945PM supports 4GB RAM, but it would be nice to hear confirmation from someone who has tried it.
Any RAM whores have $3k to blow?

That's quite a price jump from 1 GB to 2 GB.

Jeebus that's a lot of money for a 2GB module!

2GB total is enough for me (at the moment). I'll take my $3000 (2 * $1500 = 4 GB), and save up for a new Mac Pro.

How did it come to this? Goodbye PowerPC. | sensory output

Once these show up in stores someone could buy it, see if it works, then return it.

Since that's marked for G5 iMacs, I think it may be misidentified. Confusing DDR2-533 with PC2-5300 isn't a huge jump.

Won't it just work slower in the MBP?

After rereading the chipset specs, 4GB is only validated at 533Mhz anyway. So DDR2-533/PC2-4200 is the way to go.
