I don't think the dealers are really going to like this. Seems like you would go to a local dealer to test drive something and then go to ebay and maybe buy it somewhere else. And where in the chain of financial transaction is the money to ebay coming from? Are commissions to sales people gone?

yes. buying on ebay is modern.

GM werent modern when they chose to manufacture oldfashioned pickups and SUV's instead of Label A cars. They missed the boat when small fuel efficient cars became hot.

Thank you for your response, after discussing
with my client who really commended your rover has
instructed to move on with the deal at the price of
$4,500 ,he said he will be going on a vacation soon
and will rest virtually all the transaction on my
shoulder and assign a shipper like wise that i will
work with and stressed that he will be issuing out a cashier
check of ($9,500)
which was a refund payment of a cancelled order earlier made by
him but
will be filed in your name, you are only required to deduct the
cost of your rover
($4,500) and send the differece ($5,000) when payment gets to you
to a
shipping agent whoose information will be given to
you as at when due, he will be needing the fund to
offset shipping charges, taxes and other cosmetic
repairs/touches,the agent will be responsible for signing and
transfering of title paper and also pickup.
So i require of you to send me your NAME,ADDRESS AND
PHONE NUMBER for payment to be delivered to you via
fedex courier services .All other information needed
in completion of this transaction will be given to
you in due time.
thanks
What could possibly go wrong?

Well, the masterfully forged check for one thing.

No
Because I'm in the market for an '10 V6 Camaro, and those cars are going for an absurdly high price on eBay. Like $5000 above MSRP. I'll pass. I'll wait till fall and get a good deal on one.

V6 camaro has as much power as the previous generation v8 camaro, and gets 30 MPG. 422hp is great but somehow, someway, I'll get by with my measly 304hp

Nope, not for me. I will continue to buy local so that I can test drive the actual car that I am going to buy.

It looks like one of the big three finally did a V6 "muscle car" right. Motor trend did a comparison of the new Mustang, Challenger, and Camaro SS, then at the end mentioned the V6 Camaro and what a serious contender it is. It's lighter than the SS so it handles better and it comes with the 3.6 V6 from the Caddy CTS. Direct injection, VVT, etc. Sure it's not a "classic" V8, but it's not just a rental car/bitch ride anymore.

While I don't buy GM products, I see nothing wrong with giving it a try. They need/want to sell vehicles; if it works for them then good. I understand concerns for actual dealers; but it could in turn work for them...someone in iowa wants car x, but only texas dealer has it so ebay hooks them up. at the same time, someone in florida wants something that iowa has. iowa still sold a car, but just not to the person in their backyard.

sorta takes the dealer network of moving cars around and puts it on ebay for the public to do.

In other news, GM will keep the G8 in their line-up rebadged as a Chevrolet Caprice. A good move in my opinion. Link Up

Woah. Cool. It looks a bit more bland than the G8's love it or hate it styling, but at least they're keeping it around in some form.

I don't think I could bring myself to buy a vehicle on eBay, unless it was close enough for me to "kick the tires" first.

Did you get the cams welded? I hear changing spark plugs is a bitch. The rear cylinder bank is basically under the dashboard so the whole intake manifold has to be pulled to get to the rear plugs.

Yes to cams welded. The rear bank wasn't that bad. (Was able to do it myself.) But with most engines mounted sideways the rear plugs are difficult.

It was a nice car. Looking forward to it's replacement.

I wouldn't buy one on eBay unless they could match the financing and incentives that dealers can.

I do like big cars.

But none the less ... I've decided to stick with my existing cars for a while. I like being payment free, and the way the economy feels like it's headed I'd rather bank cash then spend it.

They are pretty giant. It's 3" longer than the Acura TL, and nearly a foot longer than the Honda Accord, which is at the low end of large-car classification by the government. Plus the ride height is pretty up there as well, making it feel even bigger.

I think it should be clarified that the older taurus was a midsize car, because I suspect that most people still equate the name with the third generation car.
