I'd like to move a huge pile of mail from Outlook 2003 to Entourage 2004, but I can't seem to find any instructions. Please tell me that I can do this, or the powerbook may be going back . ..

Are you using Outlook 2003 with an Exchange Server by chance?

No. This doesn't sound positive . . .

Yes. The software itself works pretty well, albeit slowly, and the results were pretty positive, but using it with a current version of Outlook is agony because, for security reasons, Outlook prevents other programs from accessing its files. You get a prompt to allow access for up to 10 minutes, but you have to sit there and continuously reallow access in 10 minute periods. There may be some way to turn this off in Outlook, but I couldn't figure out how.
If you have years of data to move, it will take days and days to complete the process.

Isn't there any other way? I simply want something that will take Outlook's .pst file and import into Entourage . . .

The word "simply" when inferring to (2) different Microsoft products is a far off cry from reality...
All joking aside, I wish there was something else easier.

Try Little Machines Outlook2Mac:
Outlook2Mac
It converts messages, contacts and calendar events. It did a great job converting an old *.pst archive I had to *.mbox and *.vcf files that I imported into Mail and Address. Plus, it's only $10.

For emails, just use an IMAP server to upload all the files from Outlook, and then download them from Entourage.
Do you have a .Mac account? That's one way.
Or do something like install Stalker's Communigate Pro (trial version) on the Mac or PC and set both up for IMAP access to it. This would be a lot faster as then everything would be local. If you have 500+ MB of mail it would be a lot less painful.
