I'm still reading it, but it's pretty good so far. Lots of pictures of the internals, too.

I think Apple should have stuck to a 5400 RPM HD and not have made it a luck of the draw type thing....hopefully we'll get one with a 5400 RPM drive.

It's a decent review. It was very objective and pretty in depth.

I liked it.
Did anyone read "A Month with a Mac - Part II"? He says his first Mac article was one of the most read articles he's ever done, and generated the most positive emails!

Great read, just great. I really like Anand, I've actually seen the guy on campus (we attend the same university).

Woohoo, I got a 5400 RPM in my mini! The most in depth artice I've seen so far. The 1st article that identified the drive. I searched the number from my system profiler & found nothing. Although I haven't noticed any slow downs from the "4200 RPM" drive, I was planning on getting a 5400 or even a 7200. Now I may just leave well enough alone.

Is the 5400RPM a toss up or are all mini's now equipped with a 5400 drive?

Very nice overview. A good read for anyone thinking about buying the Mac mini, especially PC users.

Nah, I live 40 miles east of Raleigh, but have friends there so I visit a lot. And also visit the Southpoint Apple store when ever possible

Anand's article is well balanced and generally well thought out. His readers are still morons.
