Some shameless self promotion:

I'm competing in the Duke's Ocean Fest! You can watch live at: http://tinyurl.com/3a94g7l

I'm scheduled to surf at 8:25a on Friday, and 2:15p on Saturday (HST). ((I posted this at 6:25a HST))

If you really want us to watch, you need to give us lazy bastards the time conversions for PST and EST at the very least (Eff you, Euros).

What the bloody hell is a "HST"? Sounds like something menopausal women get.
Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.
That's where there's thunder... and the wind shouts back.

Sweet man, good luck! Surfing is a lot of fun, wish I lived near an ocean. Or mountains. Or something worthwhile, that isn't flat boring shit.

HST = Hawaiian Standard Time

I figured posting the time at which I posted was close enough to a conversion (ie, watch 2 hours from when I OP'd).

If anyone tuned in, I was wearing the yellow jersey & black shorts. I recorded the TV stream - I've never seen myself surf before, so that should be interesting.

Hey, congrats! And good luck!
As a kid, back in days of b/w tv, I used to love it when Wide World of Sports would show the Duke Kahanamoku championship.

placed 6th overall, not bad. had a blast! best part was surfing that break (which normally has 50-100 people) by myself.

Thought that you were going to post a Waimea shore break photo or something.

BTW I'm no surfer, I just love photographing them.
