Rubbish. It’s an antonym to ‘win’, which is a nominalised form of the verb ‘win’ as a means of creating an abstract noun, not a semantic extension of the existing noun (just like ‘fail’ is a nominalised form of the verb—the traditional noun would be ‘failure’), so it makes far more sense to nominalise the verb ‘lose’, rather than suddenly to use the traditional (non-abstract!) noun.
