Hello all,
Just wondering about my TiBook 800 and the new Apple DVI LCD's. I know my Radeon Mobility will do 1600 by 1024 on an external LCD, but the new specs on the Apple LCD's are 1680 x 1050 for the 20" (which I want) so, will I have a small black border around the edge of the new 20" if I am driving that external monitor alone (not mirror mode)?
TIA

Cheers,
raferx

Not exactly sure except that the specs on the Apple Webpage say that the minimum requirement is a Powerbook G4 with DVI. I doubt they would make a mistake, so I am assuming that your computer would handle the display fine. To be sure, call your local Apple store, or apple.

don't bother asking them. they will go straight off the specs. go to the apple store, and try yourself, or an apple dealer. i wouldn't take a lackey's advise on an expensive purchase like that.

How about my experience: I have the ADC 20" display that is the exact same resolution as the new one and run it off of my TiBook 1ghz. I believe that almost any card with 32mb or above can push the resolution for the 20" and even the 23" display.
