So I just bought a SATA HDD docking station because I've been accumulating hard drives and I wanted to be able to use them without swapping them in and out of enclosures all the time. I've got 4 (2 2.5", 2 3.5") and don't like to leave them sitting out, but don't know I should store them.

This seems to be along the line of what I'm looking for. I like the case that holds 10, but don't need one that big. The individual ones make me think of those awful VHS rental cases.

I wouldn't mind something simpler either. Just looking for ideas.

I can't justify spending 155 bucks for a 10 drive case.

Turtlecase sells a cheaper case for 128 bucks but that's still up there as well.

That was kind of my issue too.

Do you know of anything smaller, but not too small? Something like 6 drives? I don't think I need space for 10.

Me either. I'm going to keep looking. I'll post back if I find something.

Save your money. Just keep them in anti-static bags in a clean dry, low humidity location. Unless you're shipping these drives or traveling with them somewhere, you don't need this.

I had thought about that too. Just don't really know where to get anti-static bags. I haven't really looked though, so I'm sure they're not too hard to find.

You can check out http://www.casesbypelican.com for watertight cases in all sizes. Most have 'pick n' pluck' foam inserts to customize your storage. For a size you're talking about, should only cost about 35 bucks.
