I've been playing with taking photos of some of my macs, and a couple of them (with heavy editing) have come out quite... neat.

http://www.danamania.com/gallery/beige/abx is my web server, a 6100/66 that sits on the desk, whirring away 24/7 - and http://www.danamania.com/gallery/beige/abz is my mac plus. One of the few very dead macs I have. pity.

Thought I'd share
be well,
dana

They're done with a Canon A70 with the built-in lens.

The colour effect is made by messing with white balance before taking the pic

Those shots are crisp. You should send them to Apple to see if they'd hire you for product photography.

The blue one could have been good, but a few things are wrong. You need to use a large flat to get the highlight in the screen to be a smooth gradation from left to right. Also pull back and give a little breathing room, its cropped too tight. Get rid of the wall, and cables in the background, too distracting. Do all this in-camera then you have a good shot. Same things in the beige one.

Quick and dirty PS job of how it should work:
