YouTube - ThunderCats 2011 Trailer [HD]

It s not too clear if it is a prequel, a sequel, or a remake. Anyone figured it out?

This video contains content from Turner (Cartoonnetwork), who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.
Sorry about that.
Bollox.

EDIT : Not bad. A big breasted cartoon character that jumps around alot. Works for me.

No Panthro?
I see 2011 Thundercats are too good for affirmative action. That's unfortunate. He was the B.A. Baracus of the 80s cartoon world

Snarf and Panthro will be in it. They just weren't in the trailer.

Crappy anime and CG. American audiences will gobble it up.

Finally saw an episode.
It was garbage. I expected CN to make something darker and more mature and instead I tuned in to a remake of the Karate Kid with a rabbit. Terrible and preachy.

I haven't made up my mind if making snarf into a pokemon is an improvement or not.

I also saw an episode. It was pretty bad. But probably decent entertainment if you're 8.

But let's be perfectly clear here. The original show was not good. It may have been good compared to the other dreck that was on, but it was not actual quality programming.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

The only only major cartoon from that era that I think is actually watchable is Voltron. The animation is sometimes static, but the show is pretty solid.

I remember watching Thunder Cats when I was young ... but I didn't remember how bad the plots were. And how often the villains said their own names! I downloaded the first season and it's bloody terrible!

This remake has it's moments. The pilot was genuinely good, it left me with high hopes. After that they've really dumbed it down and seem to be using a trope and episode. They've had the moby dick rip off episode, they've had the life is short episode, the "we need supplies but the enemy has them" episode, the wandering in a temple/dungeon with traps episode, the back in time through the eyes of someone else episode, and most recently the learning that brute force isn't everything episode. I'm waiting for the episode about why you shouldn't bully other kids, the don't take drugs episode, and the don't have premarital sex episode.

I didn't say the original was amazing television but the impression it left on kids of that period was lasting enough that they have fond memories of it to this day. With the destruction of GI Joe and Transformers already behind us there was a hope that maybe Thundercats would be done right by the geeks at the Cartoon Network.

No such luck
