When clicking on one of the Final Cut pro 4.02 update packages I get the following error msg:

"The Preflight script was either not excutable or not readable".

The installer will not run. Any ideas on what is up deeply appreciated.

OSX 10.2.8 on PowerMac G4 800.

Well, it means the script that's supposed to run before it actually installs wouldn't run. You could try to dig into the package and see if the file (has "preflight" in the name) needs to be set to executable or just try to get a fresh copy of the package again.

Ok, will have a look. But this is twice I've dl it so I've the feeling the problem is here...

Looked but nothing in the package but the application itself... Pacifist shows no other files.

PS latest. Problem solved with a great link from someone on the boards here. It's a Stuffit 8 problem with permissions. there's a fix. Everything now works.
