I just set up my iMac and I went to download and install AIM like I had on my powerbook and I couldn't get it to work. I realized that maybe it was because it was compatible with the intel computers? Is there a way to run a program like that on these iMac?

Use iChat. It's included with OSX.

maaaannnn, why couldn't EVERYTHING just be universal binary before Apple even came out with Intel Macs? (there is an obvious answer, I'm just wishing out loud ).

I like Adium a lot but do use video/audio chat quite a bit.

Same. Give Adium video support and it would definitely be the leader. But alas, it would probably be a luxury we would have to pay for

I'll probably just use Adium and on the rare occasion I need to video chat (I use Skype for audio), I'll just sign onto iChat in my iChat-only AIM screename *shrug*.
