Hey everyone-

I have about a thousand bucks to spend and would like to get my Mom a Power Mac before Xmas. Anyone want to let their baby loose? I can get a PM 867 from the Apple Education Store for $1200, so price accordingly. No way I am going to spend $800 on a G4 400, and no-

Programs installed without the retail disks don't count as an asset. I have Limewire too.

Applecare however, is a nice plus.

You may want to check eBay and see if any of the 733 MHz Powermacs are selling in your range... I don't know that many people will be able to beat the Education priced 867 MHz model.

I checked out the 867 in the Education store for 1252 and I'm selling a Dual 500 for about the same price. It would be a tad slower (but it's a dualie, so it's faster in a few things too), plus I've got 4x the memory, 2x the RAM, a much better video card, applecare, etc. I'm also selling it as a package with a 19" monitor, decent speakers, etc. for a little more if that interests you. And while I could preload this with a lot of sweet programs, there's no way I'd even think about charging you for it (gotta keep the retail disks for my Powerbook).

But if that's getting out of your price range, that's cool. Email me at [email protected] if you have any questions or comments. I'm at work so I'll be frequently checking email throughout the day anyways.
