The idea for this thread occured to me after I have seen all the threads on stuff like beer spilled on MBPs and whatnot.
I really wish I could find my camera right now. I would show a pic of what happened to my Lombard's power adapter and CD drive bezel. The power adapter is screwed and the bezel was ripped off in a freak backpack accident.
But yeah, post your pics and tell your stories of Mac abuse!

I was once carrying my iMac DV (Ruby 400MHz) by the top handle only, when some of the plastic rivets started to pop out. I grabbed it before it totally broke off, but I didn't carry it by the handle after that. I'm super careful with my computers and the only 'damage' done to them is intentional (eg making a B&W G3 accept two optical drives or fitting a 6500 or a G3 inside a Classic case).

When I bought my iMac DV from a guy with a craigslist listing, he said that I should not carry the iMac by the handle either. He said that he had seen a few hit the floor that way.

My nano was scratched the first day I used it. Other than that, nothing.

well lets see, I dropped an iMac DV by carrying it just by handle, my powerbook G4 17" blew up for some reason, my iBook G4 12" literally melted, my first 17" macbook pro fell down 3 flights of concrete stairs and then got run over my a semi truck. then my puppy chewed up my iPod 60 gb to the point where it looked like a chewed piece of plastic and metal, it didnt even work after that, I have a chesapeake retriever, they are the biggest of retrievers

Hmm... my old iPod Mini's HDD crashed when I dropped it... but my current 4G iPod has been dropped dozens of times (onto cement, no less) and still plugs on... other than that, not much. I'm generally pretty good to my toys.

Come to think of it, I blew up an IIe or an IIsi or something like that. It was a grey, busted, II-based, mac. One of my friends and I filled a CO2 cartridge with Pyrodex, and then a fuse. We opened the case and put that inside. Then we closed it. There was pieces of mac everywhere.

when the powerbook G4 500 Mhz was still for sale in stores, I decided to get rid of my Ti-paint problem by wrapping a sticker onto the bonnet. That looked quite ok. But the carbon sidings and Ti-metal around the keyboar were very difficult to paint. It sweated too much so the paint didnt hold. i didn't really understand what I was doing back then
I still keep this wasted powerbook, its the only Mac I never sold.
