OK space fans. Hopefully we'll be back in space business later today.

I'm off to the runway, for RTLS (return to launch site) support. and that really means, standing around losing blood to them damn skeeters and sweating my arse off. but to get back to orbit,
it's worth it.

oh yea a little trivial info, they supposedly loaded a special food locker last night. something to do with the Emeril Lagasse's cooking show.

Of all days, I'm glad the Discovery finally launched on our Independence Day. I grew up in Titusville and witnessed just about every launch from STS-25 to the present. I also had the priveledge of working out at the Cape for 3 years as a part-time security monitor for the Space Station and Payloads. Those were the 3 coolest years of my life.

Godspeed Discovery! It's good to see you flying again!
I gotta have more cowbell.

Neat pics man. I went to a launch once, in the 80's. I was a young lad, but I remember it well.

Alligators threatened, mosquitos drew blood, shuttle launched.. rocked the earth I stood on. and left the atmosphere.

more pics.

Never made it out to the PADS. The industrial area was my stomping grounds...SSPF and the O&C area. I've got some pictures from there...but still trying to find a scanner. Will post a link when I get them uploaded.
