The correct answer would have been,

"These two lines on a graph with a provocative title, containing data I have not reviewed, plotted in a manner I have not reviewed, do roughly track with each other. For all this tells us, it may as well been scribbled on a napkin."

Even if the data is valid, the committee made its argument in a bullshit manner.

State department issued a statement that Tillersons IQ is high. They have to know this will only escalate things, right?

That's the point.

Honhum, just your typical day where the president shows he doesn't care for the first amendment.

It's totally fine for the president to take away broadcasting licenses for television stations that show negative things about him. Everything negative is fake, btw.

I have super-sized philosophical objections to his behavior, but what ****s me up is the Trump's philosophical underpinning is "I'm a shitposting prick". My philosophical objections aren't really relevant.

If Trump gave a nitwit answer, things could get interesting. As written, the Oath clause is an entry condition, not an ongoing condition of office.

So admitting violating the oath is not an automatic resignation. But it is impeachable, should the House act and the Senate proceed.

"I’ve written [the soldiers’ families] personal letters. They’ve been sent — or they’re going out tonight but they were written during the weekend … So, the traditional way, if you look at President Obama and other presidents, most of them didn’t make calls, a lot of them didn’t make calls. I like to call when it’s appropriate, when I think I’m able to do it. They have made the ultimate sacrifice. So generally I would say that I like to call. I’m going to be calling them — I want a little time to pass — I’m going to be calling them. I have, as you know, since I’ve been president I have. But in addition I actually wrote letters individually to the soldiers we’re talking about and they’re going to be going out either today or tomorrow.”

Kids who didn't do their homework lie more convincingly.

I was going to make a "my dog ate my letters" joke but then I realized that the White House does not have a First Dog. This is a grievous offence and of everything that has happened so far, I am the most riled up about this.

I wonder if people less inclined towards empathy also are less likely to own pets. Random thought.

Actually if Trump is a germophobe then that seems like the logical reason he doesn't have pets.

I completely believe this. He never had a pet growing up either. It's hard to care for another creature's well being when you don't consider anything outside of yourself worthy of life or consideration.

I have a friend who hates pets but is huge on kids. I haven't been able to pin down the dichotomy there

Was it just hair then? Poor pup.
I had a friend with a new baby. Her dog ate 13 baby binkies. They kept wondering where they were disappearing to.

It looks like it came from a stuffed toy. The vet said it very well could have been there prior to us adopting him from the pound.

Per @kaitlancollins the $25k check Trump promised to the family of a fallen soldier over the summer was sent today.
That's twice this week he did something after the press asked him about it. C'mon!

So let's see how well I say this: Out of the four soldiers killed in Niger, Trump just happens to be feuding with the soldiers family who is black. Do I think he did this on purpose? No. I imagine he was as lacking in empathy and awkward in all his calls to those parents. But I imagine these parents amoung all the others were most sensitive about Trump given his enabling of racists and racism both during his campaign and administration. Which means when he communicated his sympathy poorly, there was a lot less slack given.

Do I blame the parents for their reaction? Not at all. But they stand as another example of the insensitivity and intractability of this presidency. Rather than turn the other cheek, declare his intentions were misinterpreted and restate his sympathy they have to dig in and politicize it further.

So we have a man in the media disrespecting the parents of the military he acts as he holds in such high esteem and attacking minorities so many think he already lacks respect for.

Bang up job. A+

Trump Says He Will Release Final Set of Documents on Kennedy Assassination
WASHINGTON — President Trump has decided to release a final batch of thousands of classified government documents related to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy, Mr. Trump announced in a tweet on Saturday morning.

“Subject to the receipt of further information, I will be allowing, as President, the long blocked and classified JFK FILES to be opened,” Mr. Trump said on Twitter.

I'm happy to give him kudos for declassifying public-interest documents.

But I have a problem with needing a Presidential directive to declassify public documents 54 years old. The UK automatically declassifies at 30 years, unless there is a clear and present need to keep it under wraps. Our classification should have an automatic expiration too. As it stands, our gov likes to classify everything, apparently until everyone involved is dead of old age. So no one can be held accountable for stuffing their pockets, or whatever.
