Haven't used it for awhile, but it is a useful fallback for instant contact. Especially when collaborating on a server issue.

What are people using for IM now? ie - instant texting with anonymity (non-real screen names).

I haven't used it in ages but this is very sad.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

I loved using Adium for quite some time. Love the interface. Even had one of their t-shirts for a while. I also remember using iMessage for Mac on AIM. People loved the bubble interface. At that time, the bubbles were totally new.

When using the official AOL client, I always used the hack to cut out the distracting animated ad in the main buddy group window. Those were fun times.

This user name is a bit of an anomaly for me (there are other Paco500s out there in the world, very few are me- for example https://twitter.com/LiveByTheGUN24, not me). For most of my accounts around the web, I use my original AIM handle. I'm sad it's going away, even though I haven't logged in for years.

My wife and I IM all day via Jabber using Adium. We could use Apple Messages, but the desktop app takes up wayyyyyy too much screen space compared to small and simple Adium.

I use many chat applications unfortunately. It kind of depends on which country my friends are from. I use it on my iPad and iPhone and their desktop equivalents on my Mac.
