I wonder if anyone here can help me. As part of my job I sometimes have to post links on mesage boards/forums such as this one, so that people can link to my site easily. I know how to create the link fine, but I am noticing that many people now have a way to 'disguise' the link so it looks as though it will take you somewhere else, and I would love to know how they do this - does anyone know?
Example: instead of this link - http://buythisproduct.com/Store/product/size/26732
I want it to look nicer such as - http://buythisproduct.com
but still direct the browser to the same place.
Can this be done easily?
Any help much appreciated,
Thanks

You're seriously asking us to help you becoming sneakier at spamming forums?

Its not for spamming, just for posting my links when ask for them and making them look a little neater. Thats all.
If you dont want to help thats fine. I would happily pay to buy an application or similar - maybe someone else will take my rerquest seriously.
Thanks

If you know HTML, you realize that the linked text can be anything you want, as long as the URL is specified in the code. Or maybe I'm missing something?
Edit:
If you're asking how to shorten URLs, that depends on the message board system in use. Or you can use a service like TinyURL

Um... As everyone seems to have noticed, this is just learning how to use vbcode, yeah?
[ url=http://buythisproduct.com/Store/product/size/26732 ]http://buythisproduct.com/[ /url ]
without the spaces to be:
http://buythisproduct.com
The first post did sound like you're a spammer wanting to be sneakier...

or in plain html (for a website ((not forums)) it will be:
< a href="http://buythisproduct.com/Store/product/size/26732" >http://buythisproduct.com< /a>
without the spaces to be:
http://buythisproduct.com
